In order to celebrate its 150th anniversary, Chopard especially launched L.U.C Louis-Ulysse-the Tribute wristwatch. It is originally a pocket watch which can be turned into the wristwatch, produced at limited edition of 150 pieces.
The design inspiration comes from a pocket watch. As a contemporary timepiece which is re-interpreted, the pocket watch as well as a wristwatch is diversely featured. Taking on a contemporary look, it also makes the wearer recall "the happy time" of Chopard.
The watch body can be easily separated from the bottom shelf through a simple rotation and independently work as a pocket watch. It has an oversized case with the diameter measured at 49.6mm and is water resistant to 30 meters. The watch crown as well as the buckle is set at the position of 12 o'clock. It is powered by the novel LUC EHG Pocket watch movement produced by the Geneva watch-making school, crafted from customized white gold which is highly polished and ornamented satin. The purpose to release such a movement is to push the development of the watch-making school. This time, Chopard not only showed its support to the watch-making industry and the training of the apprentice but also expressed its respect to the city where Chopard started its legend.
The mechanical hand-wound movement housed inside the case has a frequency of 21,600 times per hour, making the wristwatch power reserved to 80 hours. What is more, it ensures the normal functions of hour, minute and second display. This movement is certificated by COSC and is engraved with a unique serial number. The classic dial is accented with LUChopard 1860 engravings at 12 o'clock, the red LUC marker on the subsidiary dial at 6 o'clock and oversized Roman numerals hour markers. High quality sapphire crystal glass is used protect the dial from damage and scratch. It is fitted with black genuine crocodile strap. Brand logo is engraved on the deployment buckle. What is more, LUC Louis-Ulysse-the Tribute wristwatch comes with additional chain for wearing when it is turned into pocket watch.
